Cartographically Correct Maps, DSM and Orthomosaics (AT309 Week 15)
In this week's lab, we completed three maps. In each of these maps, I included a title, insets, north up arrow, scale, legend, metadata, and watermark when applicable. Figure 1 shows the first map where we have a shaded Digital Surface Model with a transparent DSM on top of it. This shows the terrain elevation in a visual way as it color codes it and you also have shaded terrain. It contains an inset map showing where the mining area is found.

Figure 2 shows an orthomosaic map of the same area as Figure 1. We also added zoomed-in insets of all of the GCPs in the area. This shows their exact location. It also had lines connecting the inset to the proper GCP so you could tell where they came from.

Figure 3 shows another Orthomosaic Map of the same area, but this time we took away the insets of the GCPs and added gridlines to the map.
